Last weekend we went up to Whistler to camp and hike, this weekend we kept it a little more local. About a half hour drive from our place is Pinecone Burke provincial park, which boasts a ton of trails for hiking and mountain biking.

Although the park is close to Coquitlam it was still quite secluded once we got on the trails. There was plenty of flowers, fungi and interesting trail markers to look at almost immediately. Not long in to the hike we did notice signs of bears in the area, definitely worth bringing the bear spray along.

After about an hour and a half of hiking I finally checked the map and realized we had taken a slightly different/more difficult path than we originally intended, typical me, but every good adventure needs a little detour.

Sawblade falls and the view of Coquitlam Lake were the intended goals on this hike, but somewhere along the way we missed the view of the lake (those damn forks in the road). We did find sawblade falls though and had a brief moment to ourselves before another group of people made their way down.
